Hello

Welcome. My name is Roy Minton, and I am a playwright. I have written four novels, an autobiography, film scripts, stage and television plays, stage musicals, short stories and filthy ditties.

I'm currently writing a novel which may be my best work to date. However, due to the deadening, ignorant state of the powerful, I have for years refrained from putting my work on the market place. The only reason I carry on is because writing is what I do.

Life is a desert without it.

This is my first blog. I will update it as I find time. Watch this space...

Look forward to reading your blog, Roy.

I am currently writing a brace of radio programmes about Bill Cotton... Any chance you might be induced to talk about Scum?

Roy, I downloaded a time coded copy of Funny Farm from the internet & regard it as one of the greatest pieces of tv I've seen. It's a shame it wasn't included on the dvd of Scum.

Hello Roy,
I know this may not be the place to post things like this and maybe you don't want to hear it.
But I believe that you are my great Uncle - My name is Molly Davies and John Davies is my Grandad.
If you are willing to and if you ever get this would you please get in touch?
Thank you, Molly.

Roy,
My father played your character Jimmy Hanbury is the Play For Britain: Fast Hands.
I am desperate to obtain a copy of this but due to all the changes that have happened with Thames Television over the years I am finding this rather a struggle.
I would be so grateful if you’d be able to offer any ideas.
Kind regards,
Phoebe

I wrote a letter to Alan Clark detailing my experience in Risely remand centre, where I was abused and raped, back in the 70.s. I didn't commit suicide but sometimes wish I had. Todays news about the historic abuse in another detention centre brings it all flooding back. Did Alan ever discuss this letter with you or his sources for this? I need to know if that letter still exists somewhere. I was 17 years old at the time too. My name is Peter and you can contact me at this email address: jujitsu@wanadoo.fr

Hello Roy! My name is Wade Driver and i play in a band called APOGEE SOUND CLUB. We've been around for about 3 years, based out of San Francisco CA. First let me say that SCUM is one of my all time favorite films. The reason i am writing to you is that we want to use an audio clip from SCUM on our upcoming LP. we're only pressing 300-350 copies. It's a small project, a labour of love that we will not profit from. Here is the clip and the song we want to attach it to:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME and please let me know what you think and hopefully we can get permission. If someone else holds the rights, could you give me their contact. CHEERS! = Wade blackbolt_23503@yahoo.com

Dear Roy Minton,
I am a French essayist who stumbled yesterday on "Scum", and I just wanted to express my utmost admiration for your work: you have written one of the greatest films in the history of British cinema, a true milestone which will stand the test of time.
Thanks for all you have done for us - I look forward to reading your autobiography.

Hello Roy,
I was just reminiscing with my Dad, Harold Davies. We were talking about you, Norma, Billy, Derek, John, David, Kath, Don, Maureen, Keith & June. He is always so proud of you and we've been hearing about you for years. He would love to hear how you are. Maddie

Hi Maddie, I don’t wish to intrude on your reaching out to Roy, but I’m related, and although long estranged from Roy, I’d be really interested to see pictures of that side of my family, who, apart from an aunt, I never met. I have family photos from growing up I’d be happy to share. Forgive me for being a little vague at this point. I’m sharing through my sons account. If you’d be happy to connect via email, please let me know.
